Uijeongbu-si Selected as an Excellent City/County in Gyeonggi-do Information Security Management Evaluation
Achieved S Grade for 3 Consecutive Years... Awarded 2nd Place Among Excellent Cities and Counties

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 14th that it has achieved an S grade for three consecutive years in the ‘2024 Gyeonggi-do City and County Information Security Management Status Evaluation’ and was selected as an excellent city/county (2nd place), receiving an institutional award.
The information security management status evaluation is a system that assesses compliance with security policies such as information security policies and information asset security management of national institutions and local governments according to the ‘National Information Security Basic Guidelines.’ Gyeonggi Province conducts inspections and verification evaluations of information security systems for more than 75 items, including administrative and technical security, targeting 31 cities and counties within the province every year.
To improve the level of information security, the city conducted on-site security audits for all departments to address deficiencies. In particular, starting this year, on-site visits and inspections were carried out to manage the security of services transitioned to the cloud, and consulting was conducted to introduce and operate stable information systems, demonstrating proactive activities.
Additionally, to enhance employees’ security awareness, the city conducted security training for all staff, simulated phishing email drills, and cyber intrusion response exercises. Efforts were also made to strengthen the security management system by improving outdated information protection systems and advancing the integrated security control system.
Going forward, to provide stable public services, the city plans to conduct security inspections tailored to changing informatization projects to prevent problems, analyze issues, and prepare improvement measures, continuing proactive information protection activities.
