Gyeonggi Office of Education: NICE Access Failure on College Entrance Exam Day Due to 'Distribution Equipment Malfunction'
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education stated that the cause of the NEIS (National Education Information System) access failure on the morning of the 14th, when the College Scholastic Ability Test was held, was due to a 'malfunction of the access distribution equipment.'
NEIS is an education administration information system used by 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide and more than 12,000 elementary, middle, and high schools across the country for academic and administrative tasks such as grades and student records by students, parents, and teachers.
The Provincial Office of Education explained that on the morning of the 2025 College Scholastic Ability Test, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:20 a.m., one of the three access distribution devices for NEIS users did not function properly.
These devices serve to prevent access failures caused by a sudden surge of users attempting to connect simultaneously.

The Provincial Office of Education added that despite the NEIS access failure, there was a bypass access system available, allowing connection through it, so no disruptions related to the CSAT occurred on site.
