Goyangsa Urban Regeneration Completion in November
Gyeonggi Province's ‘Goyang Seongsa Urban Regeneration Innovation District National Pilot Project,’ promoted as an urban regeneration project, will be completed this month.
The Urban Regeneration Innovation District is an urban regeneration project aimed at revitalizing declining cities affected by population decline, industrial structure changes, and aging residential environments by creating regional complex hubs with various functions such as housing, public, commercial, jobs, and living SOC through public-led district unit development.
The Goyang Seongsa Urban Regeneration Innovation District was selected as a national pilot project for the Urban Regeneration Innovation District in 2019, began construction in 2021, and will be completed in November this year.

Upon completion of the Goyang Seongsa Urban Regeneration Innovation District, 118 public-supported private rental housing units will be provided for young people and newlyweds, and public institutions and private companies will move into the 25,667㎡ industrial support facilities.
In addition, living infrastructure (SOC) such as daycare centers and public parking lots, as well as local shops, will be developed in a complex manner, expected to become a hub for innovation in the old downtown area. In particular, as the floating population increases, it is anticipated that resident businesses and local commercial districts will coexist and contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
