On the day, Lee Sang-rim, a senior researcher at the Seoul National University Population Policy Research Center, served as the instructor and gave a lecture titled "Population Changes and Paju City's Response Directions." Lee Sang-rim is an expert in the field of population policy, actively involved in various roles such as a private advisor to the National Assembly's Special Committee on Population Crisis, a member of the National Economic Advisory Council, and a member of population policy committees in local governments including Sejong City, Gyeonggi Province, and Chungbuk.
The training covered topics including △ the current status and causes of the population crisis and projections of future Korean society △ the central government's responses, issues, and the new response systems currently under discussion △ characteristics of population changes in Paju City and proposed directions for Paju City's response to future population and policy environment changes.
A Paju City official stated, "Population issues are directly connected to citizens' lives in areas such as the local economy, employment, housing, education, welfare, and environment, so it is very important for public officials who directly carry out city administration to enhance their understanding of population policies." The official added, "Through this training, public officials will increase their understanding of population issues and prepare policies suited to Paju City's circumstances to overcome the low birth rate crisis, which has emerged as a serious social problem."
