'Sexual Harassment' in Baseball Broadcast... 'Knowing Bros' Warned for Repeated Use of Profanity in Subtitles
Broadcasting and Communications Review Committee, Resolution at the Full Meeting on the 11th
On August 1st, the professional baseball broadcast on the KBS N Sports channel received a 'warning' from the Korea Communications Standards Commission.
This was because the caster, upon seeing a sketchbook in the audience seats that read "If you are a woman, Choi ○○," made remarks such as "I want to eat ○○ ramen," and "Isn't it the most delicious ramen?" thereby expressing women as objects like food, which could be considered sexual harassment.
On May 11th, the JTBC program 'Knowing Bros' featured cast members using profanity, which was subtitled as 'Si vel homme' and 'Sheep Shake it.' The Commission ultimately decided on a legal sanction of warning for this as well.
On the 11th, the Commission held a plenary meeting at the Broadcasting Hall in Mokdong, Seoul, and resolved a total of 22 cases with 3 warnings, 7 recommendations, and 12 statements of opinion.
Not only KBS N Sports and JTBC, but also MBC's 'News Desk' was finally warned for delivering one-sided claims favorable to itself, such as describing the Audit Board's report on the Broadcasting Culture Promotion Agency as 'a low-level measure for an audit that lasted one and a half years,' 'the Audit Board admitting to an illegal audit,' and 'an attempt by power institutions to seize MBC.'
On August 6th last year, SBS's 'Running Man' received a recommendation. It aired the actions and remarks of cast members reminiscent of 'bomb shots being made at a drinking party where prostitution occurs,' scenes that appeared in films rated as restricted to youth viewers.

Additionally, the Korea Communications Standards Commission decided to review after hearing statements regarding KBS1TV and KTV National Broadcasting, which broadcast subtitles during the 'Hangul Day Celebration' congratulatory performance in October that incorrectly wrote 'giyeok' as 'gieok' and 'digeut' as 'dieut.'
