Gwangjin-gu Installs 'Gwangjin-Style Crosswalk Spotlight' in Nighttime Pedestrian Vulnerable Areas
Installation of 15 Lights at 3 Locations Including 224-23 Jayang-dong to Enhance Nighttime Pedestrian Safety
Brightening Crosswalks with LED Lighting to Improve Driver Visibility
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has installed 15 'Gwangjin-style Crosswalk Spotlights' at three nighttime pedestrian vulnerable locations, including 224-23 Jayang-dong.
At night, pedestrians crossing crosswalks are not easily visible to drivers, increasing the risk of traffic accidents. In response, the district has newly established Gwangjin-style crosswalk spotlights to enhance drivers' visibility, help them quickly recognize pedestrians, and prevent various accidents.
The Gwangjin-style crosswalk spotlights use LED (light-emitting diode) lighting to brightly illuminate dark crosswalks, improving drivers' recognition ability.
In particular, these spotlights are installed together in areas equipped with pedestrian signal voice guidance devices and ground-level pedestrian traffic lights, expected to create a synergistic effect in enhancing pedestrian safety during nighttime hours.
The installation locations are ▲224-23 Jayang-dong (4 units) ▲504 Jayang-dong (8 units) ▲140-29 Junggok-dong (3 units), focusing on areas with high pedestrian traffic and frequent nighttime traffic accidents.
