Pocheon City Holds Award Ceremony Commemorating the 29th Agricultural Day
Gyeonggi Pocheon City (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) held the ‘29th Pocheon Farmers' Day’ award ceremony on November 8th at the new building conference room of Pocheon City Hall to commemorate Farmers' Day on November 11th.

View original imageThe event was attended by Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon, Lim Jong-hoon, Chairman of Pocheon City Council, Seok Young-hwan, CEO of the Agricultural Foundation, Lee Deok-ju, Head of the Pocheon Branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, and heads of local agricultural cooperatives. The ceremony proceeded in the order of opening ceremony, award presentation, commemorative speech, congratulatory speech, and commemorative photo session.
‘Farmers' Day’ is a government-designated official commemorative day established in 1996 to inform the public about the value of agriculture and rural areas, to enhance the pride and dignity of farmers, and to encourage their hard work.
This year, Pocheon City awarded a total of 56 commendations to farmers who made significant contributions to the development of agriculture in the region, including 16 Pocheon Mayor’s Awards, 14 Pocheon City Council Chairman’s Awards, 14 National Assembly Member Awards, and 12 awards from the Pocheon Branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation.
Additionally, as part of the ‘Promoting Consumption of Our Rice’ campaign, a hand signboard campaign was conducted to raise awareness of the importance of rice and to support farmers.
