Guri City involved children directly in the playground facility design process to reflect their opinions and incorporated the voices of actual users through meetings with guardians of children with disabilities.
Additionally, Guri City stated that they thoroughly prepared to create a safe and diverse play environment by consulting child play experts, playground planning specialists, and barrier-free facility experts.
In particular, to ensure children with disabilities can easily access the play facilities, a transfer system and ramps will be installed, and facilities such as sand play tables, swings, stepping stones, and hammocks will be provided for children using wheelchairs or walking aids to use comfortably.
The swing play area of the barrier-free integrated playground will feature eco-friendly cork elastic flooring to promote carbon neutrality, and the two previously separated play areas will be naturally connected to offer a much larger play space than before.
Through this, Guri City plans to maintain walking paths and rest facilities so that the area can function not only as a play space but also as a healthy and comfortable resting place for local residents.
Construction is underway with the goal of opening by the end of December, and upon completion, it is expected to be a space where all children, including those with disabilities, can play safely and joyfully.
