The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Tae-hee) announced on the 8th that it will operate the "Middle School Achievement Assessment Leading Teacher Training" to help establish achievement assessment in the field ahead of the application of the 2022 revised curriculum for the 2025 academic year.

View original imageOver two days starting from the 8th, this training held at Lotte Human Resources Development Institute (Osan) will be attended by about 170 middle school achievement assessment leading teachers recommended by 25 educational support offices.
The purpose of the training is to strengthen evaluation capabilities linked to the 2022 revised curriculum and to enhance the substance of achievement assessment connected with subject classes. To increase the execution power of evaluation, it will be conducted with practice-centered sessions by subject (Korean, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Technology & Home Economics, Information, Chinese Characters, Second Foreign Language).
The main contents include ▲ understanding policies related to the achievement assessment system ▲ establishing achievement assessment plans (such as semester-level achievement level statements) ▲ analyzing evaluation questions by achievement level (written tests, performance assessments) ▲ analyzing and feeding back achievement assessment results.
The leading teachers participating in the training will later support regional and subject-specific achievement assessment training operated by educational support offices or individual schools. The Provincial Office of Education plans to support leading teachers to act as developers of instructional-linked student evaluation supervisory materials according to the characteristics of each subject.

Kim Yoon-gi, Director of the Curriculum Policy Division at the Provincial Office of Education, said, "The cultivation of leading teachers by region and subject will be a great help in supporting the enhancement of achievement assessment in middle schools across the province," and added, "We will continue to actively strive to strengthen teacher capabilities for 'deep learning classes' and 'assessment for learning' that support students' learning and growth."
