Agreement on Adjusting Step Intervals, Twice Payment of Longevity Allowance, and Establishment of Special Duty Allowance

View original imageThe agreement ceremony was an occasion to exchange final opinions on the proposal prepared through 10 months of practical consultations and negotiations, starting from the wage negotiation request in January. Eleven people, including the chief negotiators such as the governor and the union chairman, attended.
The main contents of this year’s wage agreement include adjusting the intervals between seniority steps, paying the longevity allowance twice, establishing a special duty allowance, and providing an additional longevity allowance for newly hired public workers.
Governor Kim Deok-hyun said, “I will do my best to ensure that the items agreed upon through thorough deliberation between labor and management are implemented to the fullest extent permitted by law and budget,” and added, “I expect that through continuous dialogue and negotiation, we will find desirable solutions in any situation.”
