Over 330 Workers Sweat It Out Harvesting Persimmons
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 7th that it conducted labor assistance by visiting persimmon farms during the harvest season.
This labor assistance was promoted to alleviate the labor shortage faced by farms struggling due to the decline and aging of the rural population. Previously, Sancheong-gun selected farms with labor shortages by receiving applications from marginalized groups such as the elderly, disabled, and women farmers.

In particular, they worked busily with bright faces throughout, thinking that they could be of some help to the farms seeking assistance.
One farmer said, “Since the persimmon harvest season overlaps, it was very difficult to find labor, but the county office staff helped us a lot.”
