Eunpyeong-gu Sets 2025 Living Wage at 11,779 KRW per Hour... 2.46 Million KRW per Month
Application to 600 Employees of Former Directly Hired, Invested, and Contributed Institutions
Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 6th that it has decided the living wage for next year to be 11,779 KRW per hour, the same as Seoul City's rate. When converted to a monthly salary, it amounts to 2,461,820 KRW (rounded up to the nearest won). This is based on a standard 40-hour workweek and 209 hours per month.
The living wage for Eunpyeong-gu next year is a 3% (343 KRW) increase from this year's 11,436 KRW per hour, and it is 17% (1,749 KRW) higher than the minimum wage of 10,030 KRW per hour. This amount was decided through deliberation at the 'Eunpyeong-gu Living Wage Deliberation Committee' held on the 31st of last month.
The confirmed living wage for Eunpyeong-gu will be applied for one year starting from January 1st of next year. The applicable targets are 'Eunpyeong-gu directly hired workers' and 'workers of Eunpyeong-gu funded and supported institutions,' with approximately 600 people expected to be covered.

Mayor Kim Mi-kyung stated, "This living wage decision is an important step not only for improving the quality of life of workers but also for the sustainable development of the local community," adding, "Although the financial situation is difficult, I hope this will serve as a stepping stone for local workers to enjoy a better life."
