Dongmyeong University Middle and High School Band Competition, Grand Prize Awarded to 'CKC Band'
Dongmyung University announced on the 4th that Busan Technical High School won the grand prize at the finals of the 1st Youth Music Contest, the ‘Dongmyung University President’s Award Middle and High School Band Competition.’
A total of 13 teams that passed the preliminary round competed in the finals on November 2nd, where the CKC Band (Busan Technical High School) was honored with the President’s Award (Grand Prize, prize money of 1 million KRW). The Excellence Award went to Jisangchoegang Band (Gimhae Gyeongwon High School), the Merit Award was given to LP Band (Busan Yebit School) and OY Band (Busan International Film High School), and the Encouragement Award was awarded to Dream High (Gimhae Gyeongwon High School).
Attendees at the finals included Jeon Ho-hwan, President of Dongmyung University, Gam Young-hee, Dean of Do-ing College, Kang Cheol-ho, current Chairperson of the Busan City Council Operations Committee, and Kim Sung-soo, Chairman of Edheart NGO. Sitting members of the National Assembly (Kim Do-eup, Kim Dae-sik, Park Sung-hoon, Joo Jin-woo, Lee Heon-seung) sent congratulatory letters.
Jeon Ho-hwan, President of Dongmyung University, encouraged the participants, saying, “Education should not be about ranking by grades alone, but about providing future artists and musicians with education where they can pour their passion.”
Kang Cheol-ho, Chairperson of the Busan City Council Operations Committee, stated, “Through the opportunity of hosting the only band competition in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region, we will support it to become an international competition worthy of the name of Busan as a cultural city.”
Park Hyun-tae, leader of the CKC Band and a third-year student at Busan Technical High School, who received the President’s Award (Grand Prize), expressed his thoughts, saying, “This stage is not about competition but a place where music-loving youth come together,” receiving great applause.

The Department of Entertainment Arts at Dongmyung University, which organized the competition, is the only department in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region specializing in training one-person media creators and digital music producers. This competition was cooperatively supported by Edheart NGO, Onstage Music & Dance, Ixtus Entertainment, and Platform Small Library.
