View original imageChungnam Seosan City Council Chairman Cho Dongsik received the "Grand Prize in Local Government Legislative Activities" at the "2024 Person of the Year Awards" ceremony held at the International Conference Hall of the Seoul Press Center on the 29th of last month.
The "Person of the Year Awards" is given to individuals who have achieved outstanding results through active work in various fields such as education, legislation, economy, society, and academia.
Chairman Cho Dongsik was highly praised for his legislative activities to improve citizen welfare, including serving as the chairman of the General Affairs Committee during the second half of the 8th Seosan City Council, and for leading the enactment of ordinances such as the Seosan City Shared Living Home Operation and Support Ordinance for the Elderly Living Alone and the Seosan City Ordinance for the Promotion of Welfare for the Disabled.
Chairman Cho also took the lead in honoring national merit recipients and promoting veterans' organizations by leading the enactment of the Seosan City Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of Priority Parking Zones for National Merit Recipients.
In addition, he enhanced the honor of awards and the pride of recipients by leading the partial amendment of the Seosan City Citizens' Award Ordinance, which established the basis for providing honorary plaques at the homes of award recipients.
Cho Dongsik stated, "I feel a great sense of responsibility as well as honor to receive such a significant award," and added, "Together with my fellow council members, I will do my best during my term to further improve the quality of life for our citizens."
