Noru Group Holds '79th Anniversary Ceremony' at Noru Paint Anyang Headquarters
On the 1st, Noroo Group announced that it held a founding anniversary ceremony at the Noroo Paint headquarters in Anyang, with 500 employees gathered to celebrate the 79th anniversary of its establishment.
At the event, an awards ceremony was held to present pure gold medals and plaques of merit to 159 long-term employees, including 8 employees who have served for more than 30 years at Noroo Group affiliates. Instead of congratulatory flower wreaths, rice wreaths donated were delivered to local senior centers and underprivileged neighbors in a "Sharing Love with Rice" event.
Han Young-jae, Chairman of Noroo Group, expressed his gratitude in the founding anniversary speech, saying, “I thank the employees for their dedication to the company’s development throughout the 79 years of challenging history.” He then selected the “key tasks to be implemented to grow into a sustainable company preparing for 100 years.”
Chairman Han stated, “As international demands for carbon regulations increase, it is important to strengthen manufacturing competitiveness through securing eco-friendly future technologies and continuous innovation,” and added, “With the rising global ESG standards, we must proactively respond and pursue sustainable growth by fulfilling environmental and social responsibilities.”
Noroo Group took off in the 1950s by supplying the US military stationed in Korea and aligned with the government’s economic development plans in the 1960s. Since the 2000s, it has expanded its business scope to global markets across 15 countries including Asia, Europe, India, and Africa. Currently, Noroo Paint is the main affiliate, and the group consists of a total of 42 affiliates including the holding company Noroo Holdings, 9 domestic chemical-related affiliates, and other global corporations and branches.
Since establishing its roots in Anyang in 1973, Noroo Paint has become a representative local company of Anyang for 50 years. The Anyang factory houses a technology research institute dedicated to advanced technology and localization research.
