Kremlin: "Putin Has No Plans to Meet North Korea's Choe Son Hui"
Choe Son-hui to Visit Moscow on the 30th
Russian President Vladimir Putin is not scheduled to meet with Choe Son-hui, North Korea's Foreign Minister, who is visiting Russia, the Kremlin announced on the 29th (local time).
According to TASS news agency, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov explained at a briefing that "such a meeting (with Foreign Minister Choe) was not included in the president's schedule."
Earlier, TASS reported that Foreign Minister Choe departed from Pyongyang the previous day and arrived in Vladivostok in Russia's Far East, and is scheduled to visit Moscow on the 30th to hold talks with Russian officials. The specific counterparts for the talks have not yet been disclosed.
Foreign Minister Choe's visit to Russia is drawing attention as it takes place amid the issue of North Korean troops being dispatched to Russia. There is speculation that discussions may be held regarding the deployment of North Korean troops to Russia or North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong-un's visit to Russia during the trip.
