Lebanon's pro-Iran armed group Hezbollah announced on the 29th (local time) that it has elected Naeem Qassem, the deputy secretary-general, as the successor to Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed by the Israeli military.

The Israeli military conducted an airstrike on the Dahieh area on the outskirts of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, on the 27th of last month, killing Nasrallah.
