Join the "One Book We Want to Read Together" Challenge
Kim Dae-jung, Superintendent of Education for Jeollanam-do, participated in the ‘One Book We Want to Read Together’ challenge on the 29th and recommended the book Time to Listen to a Walk by author Jung Eun.
The ‘One Book We Want to Read Together’ challenge is a joint project by the Ministry of Education, 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education, and the Korea Education and Research Information Service, designed to promote a culture of communication through books within the educational community.

View original imageSuperintendent Kim introduced that the phrase on the first page of the book, “Close your eyes and cover your ears. Only then can you listen,” deeply resonated with him.
He stated, “This book contains a message of ‘symbiosis’ that discards prejudice about differences and recognizes each other’s lives and ways,” and added, “I want to recommend it to the Jeollanam-do education family.”

He then nominated the following as the next participants in the challenge: Baek Hyun-young, principal of Bukpyeong Elementary School (Vice President of the Jeollanam-do Elementary School Principals Association); Kim Byung-in, principal of Maeseong High School (President of the Jeollanam-do Secondary School Principals Association); Lee Hee-jin (President of the Jeollanam-do Parents Association); and Cheon Ye-bin, a student at Wando Nohwa Middle School (6th Jeollanam-do Student Council Vice Chairperson for the secondary division).
