[Invest&Law] Gwangjang to Host '10th M&A Forum' on 31st... Outlook on Korea's M&A Trends
10th Anniversary This Year... Simultaneous Online and Offline Event on the 31st at Westin Chosun Hotel
Law firm Kwangjang (Managing Partner Kim Sang-gon) will hold a forum that examines the flow of Korean M&A from both macro and micro perspectives.
Kwangjang announced on the 30th that it will hold the "10th Kwangjang M&A Forum 2024" at 2 p.m. on the 31st at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul. The event will be held simultaneously online and offline.
The Kwangjang M&A Forum, held every autumn, is an occasion where partners of Kwangjang's Corporate Advisory and M&A Group introduce the latest M&A issues. Kwangjang was the first in Korea to plan and hold such an event.
The event will be conducted in two sessions. The first session, titled "2024 Korean M&A Deal Trends," will feature presentations by Kwangjang lawyers Yoon Yong-jun, Park Kyung-gyun, and Kang Jeong-hae. They will analyze Korean M&A trends from legal and contractual perspectives through major M&A deal cases that Kwangjang has advised and successfully closed over the past three years, providing practical insights useful for practitioners.
In the second session, Kwangjang's Managing Partner Kim Sang-gon, lawyers Moon Ho-jun, foreign lawyer Kang Ki-wook, lawyer Koo Dae-hoon, and lawyer Park Ji-hyung will discuss "30 Years of Korean M&A? The M&A Market and Legal Development Experienced by Kwangjang." It has been nearly 30 years since M&A began in earnest in Korea. As the Korean M&A market has been established for about 30 years, lawyers from different generations will share the changes and major cases they have personally experienced, offering insights into the future development direction of the market.
Lee Hyung-geun, Managing Partner in charge of Kwangjang's Corporate Advisory Group, said, "The Kwangjang M&A Forum is a time for Kwangjang to widely share the expertise it has accumulated with M&A practitioners," adding, "We hope it will be a meaningful time for all participants."
