Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Wolsong Headquarters Resumes Operation of Wolsong Unit 3 After Planned Preventive Maintenance Completion
KHNP Wolsong Headquarters announced on the 23rd that "Wolsong Unit 3 (a 700,000 kW-class pressurized heavy water reactor), which entered its 21st planned preventive maintenance on May 1st, resumed power generation at 10:32 AM on the 22nd after 174 days of planned preventive maintenance and reached normal operating output at 9:20 AM on the 23rd."
During the planned preventive maintenance period for Wolsong Unit 3, KHNP carried out maintenance and equipment improvement work on major equipment, including restoration work on the Grade 4 power source bus B circuit breaker base, fuel channel inspection, improvement of the switchyard 345 kV gas-insulated switchgear facilities, and disassembly inspection of the high-pressure turbine.
