Daejeon Secondary School Teacher Recruitment Exam: 10.6 to 1 for Public Schools, 5.5 to 1 for Private Schools
Application Results: 479 Applicants for Public Schools, 377 for Private Schools
The Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that for the 2025 public (and private) secondary school teacher recruitment exam, the competition rate was 10.6 to 1 for public schools and an average of 5.5 to 1 for private schools.
For public schools, 479 applicants competed for 45 positions, while for private schools, 377 applicants applied for 68 positions based on first-choice applications.
The first round of the exam is scheduled for November 23, and test locations can be checked on the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education website starting November 15. The results of the first round will be announced on December 26.
The first round consists of education theory and major subjects. For public schools, 1.5 times the number of positions will be selected, and for private schools, 3 to 5 times the number of positions will be selected depending on the foundation. The final successful candidates will be selected through the second round, which includes practical and experimental assessments (for arts, physical education, science, and engineering subjects), preparation of teaching and learning plans, teaching demonstration evaluations, and in-depth interviews on teaching aptitude.
For the private secondary school teacher commissioned recruitment exam, the first round is conducted in the same way as the public exam, but from the second round, each foundation either conducts its own selection process or commissions the Office of Education for selection.
