RNT Technology Selected for National Project on 6G Communication... "Technology Advancement"
R&Tech, a specialized company in ceramic materials and components, announced on the 23rd that it has been selected for a development project supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups related to wireless communication.
The selected project involves the development of components for 6G mobile communication base stations and is scheduled to be carried out over approximately two years from 2024 to 2026. R&Tech plans to develop couplers and terminations required for two 6G candidate frequency bands: ▲7.125~8.5GHz and ▲14.8~15.35GHz.
Currently, R&Tech is jointly developing couplers and terminations for the 7.125~8.5GHz band with major clients. Through this government-supported development project, the company plans to expand to the 14.8~15.35GHz band and develop a component lineup that covers the entire candidate frequency range.
In 6G mobile communication, the number of essential components to improve the reduced coverage and capacity compared to the existing 5G (5th generation mobile communication) frequency band of 3.5GHz is expected to be at least 4 to 15 times higher. Furthermore, if 6G mobile communication is introduced, R&Tech expects a sharp increase in the sales volume of its components.
Recently, R&Tech has diversified its sales channels for communication components by expanding beyond 5G wireless communication equipment manufacturers to include manufacturers of vehicle Car Infotainment and inertial navigation devices.
