"North Korean Troops May Be Deployed to Siberia and Sent to the Russian Frontline"
As Russia neither confirms nor denies the deployment of North Korean troops, Russian experts are offering various analyses regarding the role of the North Korean forces being sent.
Military expert Vladimir Popov predicted on the 19th (local time) to the Russian media Moskovsky Komsomolets that North Korean troops could be responsible for protecting and managing railways, bridges, and military infrastructure on Russian territory.
He also mentioned the possibility of deploying North Korean troops in Russia's Far East or Siberian regions and sending the Russian troops stationed there to the front lines.
Regarding the expectation that North Korean troops might be deployed in Kursk, a Russian border area engaged with Ukrainian forces, Popov said, "At present, it is not particularly necessary."
He emphasized that it would take at least six months to a year to prepare the North Korean troops.
Konstantin Asmolov, a senior researcher specializing in Korean studies at the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences, analyzed on the 21st to the same media outlet that the question of North Korean troops participating in Ukraine is a matter of 'belief.'
