View original imageThe Daejeon Tourism Organization announced that the 'Daejeon International Wine EXPO 2024' will be held from June 27 to November 3 at Exhibition Halls 1 and 2 of the Daejeon Convention Center, around Hanbit Tower, Expo Bridge, and Expo Citizens' Square.
This year, Hungary will be the guest country, with more than 230 companies from 17 countries participating. A variety of new programs will be unveiled, including the newly launched 'Organic Wine Show' and 'Chicken Pairing Contest'.
During the event, shuttle buses will be operated for the convenience of visitors. The area around Hanbit Tower and Expo Bridge will transform into the nation's largest wine and food festival, featuring fresh pairings of wine, chicken, bread, and more.
There will also be programs that visitors can participate in and enjoy together, such as wine cork throwing, oak barrel rolling, and a wine quiz competition.
In addition, the 12th Asia Wine Trophy, the only international wine competition in Asia certified by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), will kick off the festivities. Other events include the Korean National Sommelier Competition, which will select the national representative sommelier to compete in the world championships.
Yoon Seongguk, President of the Daejeon Tourism Organization, said, "Through the successful hosting of the Daejeon International Wine EXPO, we will do our best to revitalize the local economy and make Daejeon a Dream Jam City where citizens are happy and visitors want to stay."
