Mok Seong-ho Appointed as New Deputy Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office and Director General of the Industrial Property Policy Bureau
On the 21st, the government appointed Mok Seong-ho (睦盛皓, 57, photo), Director General of the Industrial Property Policy Bureau at the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), as the new Deputy Commissioner of KIPO.
Deputy Commissioner Mok entered public service through the 40th Administrative Examination and has held key positions including Planning and Budget Officer at KIPO, Head of Industrial Property Workforce Division, Head of Operations Support Division, Senior Judge at the Patent Tribunal, Director General of the Industrial Property Protection Cooperation Bureau, Director General of the Trademark and Design Examination Bureau, and Director General of the Industrial Property Policy Bureau.
Deputy Commissioner Mok, a law major, is an intellectual property law expert responsible for legal revisions related to trademarks, patents, and patent attorneys, as well as international treaty accession related to intellectual property rights and FTA negotiations.
He is also recognized as an intellectual property administration expert with extensive practical experience in personnel, organization, budgeting, policy, examination, and adjudication, possessing strong capabilities in policy formulation and implementation as well as external communication and collaboration.
Deputy Commissioner Mok is also regarded by staff as a strategic and exemplary leader.

Born in Daegu in 1966, Deputy Commissioner Mok graduated from Daegu Gyeseong High School, earned a degree in Law from Seoul National University, and obtained a Ph.D. in Law from Queen Mary University of London in the United Kingdom.
