Moving forward, they will continue to act as dementia partners who support patients and families, and will actively participate in dementia-related campaigns and volunteer activities.
In response to the rapidly aging population and the growing need for dementia awareness, the county has been designating and operating leading organizations for dementia awareness. Starting with the Baekhwa Senior Welfare Center in 2020, a total of nine organizations and institutions have been designated to date.
A county official stated, “With this new designation, members will play a meaningful role as companions who understand and support dementia patients and their families. We will do our utmost to prevent and respond to dementia in this era of aging, and strive to make Taean County a happier place.”
