Earlier in early October, a citizen gave 10,000 won to a soldier serving in the military, saying, "Thank you for protecting the country." Stories of people paying for soldiers' meals during leave or discharge are often shared. Earlier this year, a story was reported about a woman in her 20s who paid for a mackerel set meal for a soldier on his final leave just before discharge. In October last year, a cafe part-timer wrote the phrase "Thank you for protecting the country" on the lid of a drink ordered by a soldier, which also became a hot topic.
