Let's Play with Haechi in the Forest!... Jungnang-gu Hosts the 11th Early Childhood Forest Family Festival
Held on October 19 at Yongmasan Early Childhood Forest Experience Center, for families with young children from regular forest use institutions
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) will hold the 11th Annual Early Childhood Forest Family Festival on the 19th to welcome the autumn season.
This festival is designed to provide children with precious memories by playing with friends and family, as well as offering various experiences through nature.
Now in its 11th year, the event will be held at Yongmasan Early Childhood Forest Experience Center under the theme "Let's Play with Haechi in the Forest Garden!" A variety of programs that allow participants to enjoy both rest and play are prepared.
The festival begins with a magic show that captures the children's attention, followed by programs including ▲hands-on activities ▲play activities ▲observation activities.
Hands-on activities include making acorn tops and leaf bookmarks, along with family-participation programs. Play activities feature times to enjoy various natural materials found in the forest, such as ‘Chilgong spinning’ and ‘Playing with fruits.’
In particular, a ‘Small Fairy Tale Village in the Forest’ is set up in a small tent where families can read storybooks together, and a ‘Forest Wooden Playground’ decorated with over 20 types of wooden play equipment is created to provide children with new experiences in the forest. Additionally, photos from the experience center activities and insect photos will be exhibited, and spaces for rest and photo zones will also be prepared.
This Early Childhood Forest Family Festival accepted applications from families with young children who regularly use the early childhood forest facilities. Approximately 400 visitors are expected, with about 10 families per institution participating.
The district currently operates early childhood forest experience centers at four locations: Yongmasan, Bonghwasan, Sagajeong Park, and Gureungsan, which are used by 64 daycare centers and kindergartens. Regular use of the early childhood forest can be applied for through a public recruitment held every February.
