‘Daengdaeng, Let's Play in Guri’ A Cultural Festival Exclusively for Pets
Guri City has been hosting its first-ever pet culture festival, "Dangdang, Let's Play in Guri," at Jangja Lake Park from the 11th to the 13th.
The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 16th that it held its first-ever pet culture festival in Guri, "Dangdang-a, Let's Play in Guri," at Jangja Lake Park from the 11th to the 13th.
This festival was a linked event of the 2024 Cosmos Festival and showcased various programs alongside the pet zone of the 2024 Value & Empathy Festival, attracting great interest and participation from citizens.
Over the two days of the 11th and 12th, the pet zone events held at the fountain plaza and outdoor performance stage of Jangja Lake Park were filled with diverse programs that could be enjoyed not only by pet owners but also by family visitors together.
In particular, the talk show and exhibition of works by street cat artist Kim Ha-yeon, titled "The Life of Street Cats," deeply moved citizens and encouraged reflection on coexistence with street cats.
Additionally, the talk show on "Happy Urban Life with Companion Dogs," held with Professor Kang Seong-ho and Dr. Choi Kyung-sun, provided a valuable time to consider ways to maintain a harmonious relationship with pets in urban living.
Moreover, the festival featured a wide range of programs including ▲Animal Love Photo Exhibition ▲Promotion Booth for Adopting Abandoned Animals ▲Free Health Consultations for Dogs ▲Hygiene and Grooming ▲Problem Behavior Counseling ▲Pet Food Making Experience ▲Pet Tarot Counseling, among others.
On the 13th, the "Mini Dog Sports Day" held at the dog playground in Jangja Lake Park created a harmonious space where pets and their owners could participate and communicate together through ▲Walking Training ▲Agility Training ▲Mini Sports Events, receiving enthusiastic responses from citizens.
A citizen who participated in the festival said, "I was happy to create memories by enjoying various outdoor experiences with my family-like pet in the warm and clear autumn weather," and added, "I am grateful to Guri City for providing such an opportunity and hope that events like this will be held frequently in the future."
