Gwangju Volunteer Center Holds 'Hopeful Resource Circulation Green Agreement Ceremony' with Three Major Religions
Bang Se-hwan, Chairman of the Gwangju Volunteer Center, held the 'Hopeful Resource Circulation Green Agreement Ceremony' on the 15th at the center with Lee Chung-beom, President of the Gwangju Christian Federation, Cheongho, President of the Gwangju Buddhist Temple Federation, and Ryu Deok-hyun, District Head of the Catholic Suwon Diocese Gwangju District.
The Gwangju Volunteer Center (Chairman Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 16th that on the 15th, it held the ‘Hopeful Resource Circulation Green Agreement Ceremony’ at the center with the Gwangju Christian Council (President Lee Chung-beom), the Gwangju Buddhist Temple Association (President Cheong Ho), and the Catholic Suwon Diocese Gwangju District (District Head Ryu Deok-hyun).
The ‘Hopeful Resource Circulation Green Agreement Ceremony’ is a project aimed at raising awareness of resource circulation and waste separation through volunteer activities in daily life, increasing the collection rate of paper packs, and practicing carbon neutrality.
The representatives of the three major religions expressed, “We are grateful for the opportunity to actively participate in local environmental issues as members of the community,” and “Let us break down the walls between religious groups and join hands for harmony and coexistence in our region, working together to promote smooth resource circulation and raise awareness of waste separation.”
Chairman Bang Se-hwan said, “With this agreement, I am amazed by the power of solidarity as the three major religions unite to establish a resource circulation system and spread correct awareness of waste separation,” adding, “Through this, we will strive to lead significant changes through small daily practices by enhancing citizens’ awareness of resource circulation via various environmental projects.”
