First Hydrogen Refueling Station for Cargo Trucks Established and Operated at New Port in Busan Port
Busan Port Authority (BPA), in cooperation with five organizations including Changwon City, has completed the construction of the first hydrogen charging station for cargo trucks at the New Port, marking the first of its kind at Busan Port.
The hydrogen charging station, built on the parking lot site of the Naetruck House Busan New Port Branch (Sinhangbuk-ro, Jinhae-gu, Changwon City), has a maximum compression and storage capacity of 180kg per hour (90kg/hr x 2 lines) and is equipped with three charging facilities.
The hydrogen charging station construction project has been jointly carried out since 2022 by Changwon City (consignor), Changwon Industry Promotion Agency Foundation (constructor), Busan Port Authority (landowner), SK Energy (construction supporter), and Naetruck House (operator) under the “Hydrogen Charging Station Construction and Management/Operation Consignment Agreement for Cargo Trucks in the Jinhae New Port Area.”
SK Energy and Naetruck House will be responsible for operation, which is scheduled to begin in October.
Kang Junseok, President of BPA, said, “We expect that the charging station will greatly contribute to the spread of hydrogen vehicles for large mobility, including cargo trucks, and we will continue to promote various hydrogen energy expansion policies to achieve national carbon neutrality by 2050.”
