Busan Urban Corporation Selected as an Excellent Institution for Priority Purchase of Products Made by Severely Disabled Persons

Last Year’s Mandatory Product Purchases More Than 2.5 Times Higher
Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC, CEO Kim Yonghak) announced on the 14th that it received the '2024 Minister of Health and Welfare Award for Priority Purchase of Products Manufactured by Severely Disabled Persons' at the aT Center in Yangjae, Seoul, on the 10th.
The award for distinguished contributions to the priority purchase of products manufactured by severely disabled persons is presented to organizations and individuals with outstanding purchase records or who have contributed to promoting such purchases.
BMC has continuously increased its purchase ratio of products made by severely disabled persons over the past three years, recording 1.6% in 2021, 1.9% in 2022, and 2.5% in 2023. In particular, last year, BMC used 2.53% of its total annual purchases of goods and services for related products, achieving more than 2.5 times the statutory ratio of 1%.
In recognition of these achievements, BMC was the only local public enterprise nationwide to be selected as an excellent institution and receive the award.
