Candidate Choi held a press conference with Candidate Jung in front of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education on the 12th, stating, "Jung Geunsik is the right person to take responsibility for Seoul education," and announced his intention to withdraw and unify.
Choi, a progressive candidate and former member of the Seoul Metropolitan Council of Education, initially said he would not participate in unification, refusing to be swayed by political factions. However, with his withdrawal and support for Candidate Jung, who was solely endorsed by the progressive camp's unification organization, the progressive camp achieved unification.
