About 100 Vehicles Confiscated Over One Year

Previously, since July 1 of last year, the prosecution and police have been enforcing the "Drunk Driving Eradication Measure," which involves seizing vehicles of serious drunk driving offenders, such as those causing fatal accidents or habitual drunk drivers.
According to the Supreme Prosecutors' Office on the 6th, from the implementation of the joint drunk driving eradication measure last year until September 30 of this year, 444 vehicles have been confiscated, and among them, 101 drunk driving vehicles have been sentenced to confiscation after the first trial concluded.
There have been a total of 142 drunk driving cases concluded in the first trial, with a vehicle confiscation sentencing rate of 71%. Considering that 170 cases are currently ongoing in the first trial, the number of confiscations is expected to increase in the future.
