"Shall I Become Indiana Jones Too?" Mars City History Museum Operates 'Museum University'
'Life and Death Left in the Grave' Theme
The Hwaseong City History Museum in Gyeonggi-do will operate the '10th Museum University' from the 17th of this month until the 28th of next month.
This course, themed 'Life and Death Left in Tombs,' consists of a total of seven lectures, held every Thursday at 2 PM. The lectures feature Professor Kang In-wook from Kyung Hee University, well known from KBS's 'History Journal, That Day' and EBS's 'Classⓔ,' and osteoarchaeologist Ha Dae-ryong from Seoul National University.
Professor Lee Hyung-won from Hanshin University will give a lecture on prehistoric burial culture, and Professor Kwon Oh-young from Seoul National University will deliver an engaging lecture that crosses the boundaries between history and archaeology.
Through lectures by funeral expert Professor Kim Si-deok from Eulji University and Joseon Dynasty costume expert Curator Jeong Mi-sook from the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum, participants can also explore various fields of funeral culture. In the final session, a craft experience using burial goods exhibited in the special exhibition will be provided.
Anyone interested in archaeology and history, as well as local residents, can participate. The total number of participants is 40, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis through the 'Hwaseong City Integrated Reservation System.' Certificates will be issued to those who attend six or more of the lectures.

Jung Sang-hoon, Director of Cultural Heritage Division of Hwaseong City, said, "This Museum University is composed of fascinating content such as the secrets of tombs conveyed by human bones and the lives and deaths of people in the Joseon Dynasty seen through excavated costumes."
