Increased Subway Service Frequency and Operations
Seoul City is set to implement a comprehensive plan prioritizing citizen safety, including increased subway services, ahead of the Seoul International Fireworks Festival scheduled for the 5th.
Seoul City announced on the 1st a comprehensive safety management plan for the Yeouido Hangang Park area in Yeongdeungpo-gu, where the 'Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2024' will be held.
The city will collaborate with related organizations such as the event organizer, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters, and the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency to establish a comprehensive safety headquarters at the venue and increase safety personnel by 28% compared to last year.
Before the event, on the 4th and 5th, all related agencies including Seoul City and the police plan to conduct final inspections of crowd control measures and facility safety management.

In preparation for nearly one million attendees, Yeoidong-ro around the event site will be completely closed from 2 PM to 10 PM on the day of the event, and Yeouinaru Station on Line 5 will skip stops depending on congestion. Subway Lines 5 and 9 will operate 18 and 52 additional trains respectively.
