On the 1st, the Hyunmoo-5, which will be unveiled for the first time at the 76th Armed Forces Day ceremony held at Seoul Airport, is called a 'monster missile' due to its overwhelming destructive power. All Hyunmoo-1 missiles have been retired, the Hyunmoo-2 series are short-range ballistic missiles, and the Hyunmoo-3 series are cruise missiles.

The Hyunmoo-4 series are new ballistic missiles upgraded from the Hyunmoo-2; the 'Hyunmoo-4-1' is a surface-to-surface ballistic missile, the 'Hyunmoo-4-2' is a ship-to-surface ballistic missile, and the 'Hyunmoo-4-4' is a submarine-launched ballistic missile. In this year's Armed Forces Day ceremony, in addition to the Hyunmoo-5, a large number of core forces from the military's 3-axis system appeared. The long-range surface-to-air guided missile (L-SAM), which was first publicly revealed at last year's Armed Forces Day, also appeared this year. The L-SAM is a missile that intercepts enemy ballistic missiles at altitudes above 40 km and is considered a key asset of the KAMD.
