Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City, Attends Sujinsa Temple San-sa Music Concert
Namyangju City held the "7th Sujinsa Temple Mountain Music Concert" on the 28th within the Sujinsa Temple grounds.
Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 30th that the '7th Sujin Temple Mountain Temple Music Concert' was held on the 28th within the Sujin Temple grounds.
The Sujin Temple Mountain Temple Music Concert is an event hosted by Sujin Temple of the Daehan Buddhist Chonghwa Order, held annually to showcase traditional culture to the citizens of Namyangju and to provide cultural comfort and healing by presenting a stage that combines traditional music and modern music.
This event, themed "Sounds Connecting Heaven and Earth," took place on an autumn evening with about 500 participants including Mayor Joo Gwang-deok of Namyangju, provincial and city council members, Kim Kyung-don, director of the Namyangju Cultural Center, heads of institutions and organizations, and devotees.
The concert began with vocal offerings by the Samyuk Elementary School Samulnori club and the Sujin Temple Choir, focusing on traditional Korean music (gugak). Following this, diverse performances including pansori by Park Ye-young, a jeongga duet by Won Hye-jung, Gyeonggi folk songs by Go Yoon-sun, and haegeum duet by Jang Yoon-hee were presented, deeply moving the audience.
Namjeong, head monk of Sujin Temple, delivered a greeting, saying, "I hope the wind of Cheonmasan Mountain, along with today's melody, lingers in your hearts for a long time and remains as a happy memory."
