Uijeongbu-si, Selection of Recipients for the 37th Culture Awards
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 30th that it held the judging committee for the "37th Uijeongbu City Cultural Awards" and selected a total of five winners, one in each of the five categories.
This year's winners are ▲ Lee Young-chun (born 1961, President of the Korea Arts and Culture Education Association) in the Academic and Education category ▲ Seo Kyung-ja (born 1951, Vice Head of the Uijeongbu Branch of the Korea Photographers Association) in the Culture and Arts category ▲ Eom In-sang (born 1961, President of the Uijeongbu Soft Tennis Association) in the Sports Promotion category ▲ Yoo Kyung-sook (born 1958, President of the Uijeongbu Branch of the Gyeonggi Women's Organizations Council) in the Volunteerism and Filial Piety category ▲ Ji Kyung-ho (born 1965, President of the Saemaeul Leaders Uijeongbu City Council) in the Regional Development category.
The Uijeongbu City Cultural Awards are the most prestigious awards in Uijeongbu City, given annually to one distinguished individual in each field who has contributed to enhancing the city's honor and devoted themselves to regional development and service.

The five selected winners will be awarded at the ceremony commemorating the "53rd Citizens' Day," scheduled for October 5.
