Israeli Military "Hezbollah Senior Official 'Nabil Kawuk' Eliminated"
The Israeli military announced that Nabil Kawuq, a senior official of Hezbollah, the pro-Iranian armed faction in Lebanon, was killed in an airstrike on the 28th (local time).
On the 29th, multiple foreign media outlets including the Associated Press reported this news. Kawuq was a member of Hezbollah's Central Committee (Shura Council) and a former vice chairman. The AP also named him, along with Hashem Safieddine, a cousin of Hassan Nasrallah, as a strong candidate for the next leader.

Hezbollah has not yet commented on Kawuq's status, but supporters have been posting messages mourning him since the previous day.
On the 27th, the Israeli military deployed a squadron of F-15I fighter jets to carry out an airstrike on Dahieh, a southern suburb of Beirut, Lebanon's capital, where a Hezbollah leadership meeting was held.
