On the 28th, the People Power Party strongly criticized Democratic Party lawmaker Kang Deuk-gu for arranging the venue for an event called "Night of Impeachment," held yesterday at the National Assembly Members' Office Building by a group named "Candlelight Victory Transition Action," calling the event unconstitutional.

This is a shocking incident that should never have happened and must never happen."
Song added, "Despite the People Power Party's demand for an apology, lawmaker Kang Deuk-gu shamelessly remains silent," and said, "The public suspects that the background enabling such shameless endurance is the intention of Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung." He also pointed out, "If the judicial risks, such as the verdict on Lee Jae-myung's election law violation case scheduled for November, materialize, the Democratic Party might be trying to destabilize the constitutional order through presidential impeachment as a 'build-up' to save Lee, who has no way to be acquitted."
The People Power Party urged, "If the event intended to destroy the constitutional order was not a 'build-up' by the Democratic Party, then the Democratic Party must immediately expel lawmaker Kang Deuk-gu and promptly disband the 'Impeachment Coalition.'"

In response, lawmaker Kang Deuk-gu refuted on his Facebook, stating, "Impeachment is clearly stipulated in the Constitution." Regarding the claim that the event was to respond to Lee Jae-myung's judicial risks, he said, "What does President Yoon's impeachment have to do with Lee's 'shield'?" and added, "If we cannot stop the unconstitutional behavior of the Yoon Seok-yeol and Kim Geon-hee couple, we will not be able to stop the impeachment train either."
