Asiana Airlines announced on the 27th that it will stop providing hot coffee and tea to economy class passengers on short-haul international flights.
The service will be discontinued starting from the 30th. The affected routes are 14 flights to Japan, China, and Taiwan with flight times not exceeding 2 hours and 30 minutes. Passengers on these routes will only be served cold coffee and tea going forward.
Asiana Airlines explained that the measure, previously implemented on domestic flights to prevent safety accidents such as burns caused by turbulence, will now be extended to short-haul international flights.
