On the 25th (local time), CBS News quoted officials reporting that former President Trump will revisit the Butler campaign site where he was shot on August 5, exactly one month before the presidential election.
Earlier, on July 13, just before the Republican National Convention to select the party’s presidential nominee, Trump was shot in the upper part of his right ear during an outdoor rally in Butler by Thomas Crooks. Authorities classified this as an assassination attempt. Then, on the 15th, a second assassination attempt occurred while Trump was playing golf at his own Florida golf club, triggering an emergency response from security agencies.
During the second assassination attempt, security personnel detected a gun barrel emerging between nearby fences while Trump was golfing and took preemptive action. Since the first assassination attempt, Trump has consistently expressed his intention to return to Butler.
Authorities also issued an official warning the day before about the possibility of terrorism against former President Trump by Iran. Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social the previous day, stating, "Iran is posing a significant threat to my life," alerting the public to the potential Iranian terrorist threat.
Trump’s presidential campaign also released a statement confirming that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), which oversees U.S. intelligence agencies, had briefed Trump on the threat from Iran.
U.S. intelligence agencies have long warned of ongoing threats from Iran against Trump and other current and former senior officials, related to the killing of Qasem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force under Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
