Yeongju City Operates 'Mobile Youth Counseling Center'... Expected to Alleviate Depression and Loneliness
KT&G Yeongju Plant Provides Communication Space for Youth
On the 25th, Yeongju City operated a Youth Counseling Center for approximately 250 employees at the main building courtyard of the KT&G Yeongju Factory.
The 'Youth Counseling Center' was organized as a space where young people can empathize and communicate, featuring five mental health content zones: a Mental Health Experience Zone, Counseling Zone, Stress Relief Zone, and Communication Zone.
At the event, various activities were conducted, including a mental health quiz, writing positive messages, self-assessment for depression and anxiety, making acrylic mood lights to help with psychological stability and stress relief, and block hammering experiences.
A communication space was also provided where participants could relax and converse with colleagues over drinks, fostering a comfortable atmosphere to improve awareness of mental health and accessibility to mental health services.
The city plans to thoroughly manage follow-up care by providing intensive case management and monitoring for high-risk individuals identified through the youth mental health self-assessment, and, if necessary, connecting them with mental health institutions for treatment.
The Youth Counseling Center previously operated at the Yeongju-Bonghwa Battalion of the 50th Army Division in April received a great response from military personnel through mental health information and various experiential events.
