Changwon Special City Holds Preparation Briefing for Masan Gagopa Chrysanthemum Festival to Ensure a Successful Event
Request for Thorough Preparations in Cooperation with Local Residents
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a preparation briefing session on the 23rd at the Masanhappo-gu Office situation room to review preliminary arrangements for the 24th Masan Gagopa Chrysanthemum Festival, which will take place on October 26.
The meeting, presided over by Deputy Mayor Cho Myeongrae, was attended by more than 20 officials from relevant departments of Changwon Special City and related organizations. They comprehensively reviewed preparations in various fields, including event venue safety management, chrysanthemum artwork exhibitions, traffic measures, and publicity.

View original imageAfter the presentations, each department and related organization exchanged opinions regarding event preparations and pledged to cooperate in addressing potential issues, making active efforts to ensure the event is substantial and successful.
Deputy Mayor Cho stated, "This year, the festival venue has expanded to Happosubyeon Park adjacent to the traditional market, offering even more food and entertainment for visitors. I urge everyone to make thorough preparations until the end, not only for safety in anticipation of large crowds but also for a successful festival that benefits the local community."
Meanwhile, celebrating its 24th year, the Masan Gagopa Chrysanthemum Festival will be held for nine days from October 26 to November 3, starting with the opening ceremony, at the 3.15 Haeangnuri Park and Happosubyeon Park.
The festival venue, spanning 37,000 square meters from the first exhibition hall (3.15 Haeangnuri Park) to the second exhibition hall (Happosubyeon Park), will feature a total of 125,000 chrysanthemum artworks displayed under ten diverse themes.
In addition, the connecting path between the first exhibition hall (3.15 Haeangnuri Park) and the second exhibition hall (Happosubyeon Park) will be decorated as the "Chrysanthemum Light Wishing Road," adorned with wish lanterns representing citizens' hopes.
Along with the "Chrysanthemum Light Wishing Road," new content this year includes the "Chrysanthemum Indie Music Festa" featuring famous indie bands, the "Chrysanthemum Dance Festival" with local professional sports team cheerleaders, mascots (such as Dandi and Seri), and university dance teams.
