Oh Se-hoon: "Lee Jae-myung and Cho Kuk Must Clarify Their 'Two Nations Theory' Stance"
"Some Left-Wing Figures Are Crossing the Red Line"
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon urged Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Cho Guk, leader of the Joguk Innovation Party, to clarify their stance on the 'Two States Theory.'
On the 23rd, Mayor Oh wrote on Facebook, "The Joguk Innovation Party responded to my criticism of the 'Two States Theory' with a commentary that is nothing more than wordplay that obscures the essence," adding, "Discussing political rhetoric unrelated to the serious issues concerning the security and unification vision of the Republic of Korea is not the attitude of a responsible political party."
Earlier, Mayor Oh criticized former Presidential Chief of Staff Lim Jong-seok's advocacy of the 'Two States Theory,' which suggested "letting go of the obsession with unification and accepting two separate states," calling it "an act of blindly following Kim Jong-un's logic."
On the same day, Mayor Oh stated, "Former Chief of Staff Lim Jong-seok's remarks on the 'Two States Theory' have become an opportunity to reconsider the ideological coordinates of the NL (National Liberation) faction figures. The public, who believed that the NL activists had 'repented,' must have been greatly shocked by this incident," emphasizing, "It inevitably raises questions about whether they truly respect the Constitution of the Republic of Korea and the liberal democratic system, or if they are still trapped in the illusions of the past."

He then demanded that the two party leaders clarify their positions. Mayor Oh said, "I have tried to avoid mentioning the ideology of NL politicians as much as possible, but some left-wing figures are crossing the red line," adding, "Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, must clearly state whether he is willing to give up unification and accept two separate states. Cho Guk must also stop evading with wordplay and reveal what choice he and his party will make."
