AI in Ready-Mix Concrete Production... SHLab Implements Unmanned and Automated Sites
Contributing to Industrial Accident Prevention through AI Technology Integration
SHLab announced on the 22nd that it has developed artificial intelligence (AI) technology to prevent industrial accidents that may occur during internal operations of ready-mixed concrete mixers.
This technology uses video recognition detection to monitor the entry and exit of workers inside the mixer manufacturing facility, and links the manufacturing equipment with the power supply device to automatically cut off electricity when workers are inside the facility, fundamentally preventing the possibility of human casualties.
Previously, the company implemented an unmanned and automated production site with the ‘Ready-Mixed Concrete Autonomous Production System (AICon)’ launched last year, reducing the return rate caused by human errors and defects to nearly 0%.
Until now, ready-mixed concrete manufacturers have relied on skilled producers to visually check the mixer current values and mixing footage inside the mixer during production. In contrast, the unmanned production method using AICon enables uniform ready-mixed concrete production, reducing manufacturing losses, which in turn lowers production costs and is expected to increase profits.
As domestic and international ready-mixed concrete manufacturers show growing interest in AI technology and autonomous production systems applied to ready-mixed concrete production sites, SHLab is currently negotiating factory installation contracts with Asia Cement Group, Samyang Remicon, and others. Additionally, SHLab is collaborating with KYC, a leading Japanese mixer manufacturer, to advance into the East Asian market.
