The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Tae-hee) announced on the 22nd that it will hold the 'Education Activity Protection Instructor Performance Sharing and Empathy Talk' on the 23rd at Sono Calm in Goyang and on the 24th at Novotel Ambassador in Suwon.
According to the Office of Education, this performance sharing and empathy talk was prepared to strengthen the culture of protecting educational activities in school settings. It will share practical cases of preventive education against infringements on educational activities conducted with education activity protection instructors and exchange opinions on lectures for the second half of the year.
The education activity protection instructors consist of 141 members including principals, vice principals, teachers, and education professionals, who visit schools directly to conduct case-centered preventive education targeting students, guardians, and teachers.
In the first half of the year, they visited 12 kindergartens, 142 elementary schools, 47 middle schools, 20 high schools, and 2 special schools, providing preventive education against infringements on educational activities to 7,754 teachers and 7,345 students and guardians. Through this, the field took a step forward in fostering a culture of protecting educational activities.
This performance sharing and empathy talk will include ▲ sharing of excellent cases of preventive education against educational activity infringements in the first half ▲ understanding laws related to teacher rights ▲ demonstration lectures for different target groups in the second half’s school visits ▲ and empathy talks with education activity protection instructors.
In the first half, specific examples and preventive measures against educational activity infringements were provided regarding types of infringements, appropriate behavioral guidance methods, school complaint response guidelines, and child abuse. Training was conducted considering the current issues and characteristics of the target schools, resulting in high satisfaction in the field.
In the second half, to ensure stable preventive education, instructors will demonstrate lectures themselves and share opinions to improve the quality of lectures.
The Office of Education plans to expand the 'Visiting Preventive Education against Educational Activity Infringements' for schools that wish to participate, using special grants from the Ministry of Education starting in September.
