Fleeing During Voluntary Escort... Unlicensed Driving Illegal Immigrant Caught After 17 Hours
A 20-year-old illegal immigrant who caused a traffic accident without a license pushed away a police officer who was accompanying him voluntarily and fled, but was caught about 17 hours later.
According to the police on the 21st, the Southern Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency Highway Patrol Unit is investigating Mr. A, a Kazakhstani national, on charges including violation of the Road Traffic Act.
Mr. A collided with the car in front of him around 6:18 p.m. the previous day near Iljuk IC on the Jungbu Expressway in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province while driving.
The police, who responded to the report, requested voluntary accompaniment to verify Mr. A's possession of a license and illegal stay status, and moved with Mr. A to the Highway Patrol Unit 1st Precinct located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
Later, around 9:20 p.m., Mr. A pushed the police officer at the building entrance and fled. It was confirmed that Mr. A's domestic stay permit expired at the end of July this year.
Mr. A was caught by undercover police while visiting a friend in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province at 1:56 p.m. on the 21st.

The police are reportedly planning to hand over Mr. A to the Suwon Immigration Office as soon as the investigation is completed.
