83-Day-Old Baby Dies... Suspected Child Abuse by 2030 Parents
Under Investigation for Suspected Abuse Case
During the Chuseok holiday, an incident occurred in which a baby less than 100 days old died at home. The police are considering the possibility of child abuse.
According to the Women and Juvenile Crime Investigation Division of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency on the 20th, a report was received by 119 emergency services around noon on the 15th, during the Chuseok holiday, that baby A, who was 83 days old, was not breathing at a house in Michuhol-gu, Incheon.
At the time, A's father reported, "I woke up from sleep and the baby was not breathing."
When the 119 paramedics arrived at the scene, A was in cardiac arrest. He was immediately taken to the hospital but eventually passed away.
The police are investigating A's father, Mr. B, in his 30s, and mother, Ms. C, in her 20s, to determine the possibility that the death was caused by abuse.

The police found circumstances that raised suspicion. At the end of July, Mr. and Mrs. B dropped baby A on the floor and took him to the hospital the next day. The attending doctor confirmed that A had a fractured skull and reported it to the police. It is understood that Mr. and Mrs. B have been booked on charges of child abuse under the Child Welfare Act.
In November of last year, Ms. C also pulled A's older brother, the first son (who was 2 months old at the time), causing a fracture in his knee area. She was booked without detention on charges of child abuse under the Child Welfare Act and sent to the prosecution.
Mr. and Mrs. B were separated from their first son from the time of the abuse until May of this year, but it is understood that they are now living together.
